PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Jax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Saurus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jax might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Immortal Technique - The Rebel. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Frank Saurus!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saurus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jax tries to avoid it but Saurus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jax to the ground. Jax escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A left lands for Jax.

Saurus instigates a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Jax fails to land.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Saurus.
A head punch on the inside from Saurus fails to land.
Jax blocking some punches.

Jax breaks from the clinch.
Jax thows a body shot but no joy.
Saurus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jax moves away.
Jax connects with an inside leg kick.
Saurus tries to clinch up but Jax circles away and keeps his distance.
Saurus thows a body shot but no joy.
Jax takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Saurus digs a good hook to Jax's body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Saurus shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jax sprawls well. Jax wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Saurus gets slowly back to his feet.
A swing and a miss from Jax.
Saurus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jax but Jax pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tony Jax has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Saurus.
Saurus throws a poor cross that misses
and Jax counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Jax keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Saurus misses with a body shot.

Jax loads up on a big right hand but Saurus slips the punch.
Jax connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Jax uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Saurus.
Saurus walks into a stiff left hand from Jax.
Saurus takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jax tries to land a leg kick but Saurus saw it coming and moves away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Saurus. Jax does a little dance to reset his feet.
Saurus takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Jax is looking to land body kicks.
Jax uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Saurus.
Saurus just misses with a punch to the body.
Jax digs a good body shot into Saurus's ribs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jax tries to clinch but Saurus is having none of it.
Saurus throws a front kick aimed at Jax's knee but Jax avoids it well.
Saurus tries for a takedown but Jax sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jax shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Saurus eats them both and turns towards Jax to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Jax uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Jax lands a jab to Saurus's midsection.
Saurus looks gassed!

Jax has Saurus up against the cage in a clinch.
Nice body punch from Jax - that landed with a thud.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Still in the clinch, Jax scores with a nice short uppercut.
Saurus lands with a right to the head.

Jax escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tony Jax is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jax stuns Saurus with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Saurus on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Jax scores with a leg kick.
Jax throws a head kick that misses.
Jax thuds a left hand into Saurus's body.
Jax lands a nice shot to the body.
Jax moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Jax with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Jax lands a big head kick that sends Saurus tumbling to the mat! Jax takes a step backwards and waves Saurus back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Saurus is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Saurus backs away from a small jab...but Jax lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Saurus crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Jax with a spectacular finish!
