PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Keni Susi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antti Hirvi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Susi comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Hero of the Day. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Susi looks for a takedown but Hirvi sprawls well.
Susi fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hirvi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Susi.
Hirvi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hirvi throws a sloppy head kick and Susi moves out of range easily.
Hirvi throws a head kick that misses.
Hirvi lands with a kick to the ribs.
Hirvi misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hirvi looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Susi tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Susi checks a leg kick nicely.
Some bone on bone action there as Susi checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Hirvi leaves Susi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Susi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keni Susi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Susi shoots in for a takedown but Hirvi shows good takedown defense.

Hirvi has closed the distance and engaged Susi in a clinch.
Hirvi lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hirvi lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Hirvi is trying to trip Susi. He has hold of a leg but Susi is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hirvi persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Susi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Susi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hirvi advances position into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hirvi tries to move to full mount but Susi actually manages to regain half guard.
Hirvi winds up and cracks Susi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hirvi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Susi's head.
Hirvi wants to pass the guard but Susi is defending well.
Susi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Susi works his way to full guard. Good work.

Susi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hirvi defends well.
Hirvi slips nicely into half guard.
Hirvi is thwarting Susi's attempts to control the position.

Hirvi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Susi has managed to free his arm - good work.
Susi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hirvi is working away from the top position though.

Hirvi is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Susi has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hirvi is looking to defend but Susi has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hirvi! Susi pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hirvi taps out and this one is all over!
