Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Melvin Gabriel has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Melvin Gabriel seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kuroda Atsushi!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabriel throws a jab but it's blocked by Atsushi.

Atsushi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gabriel did well to prevent Atsushi getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gabriel wants to get back to full guard.
Gabriel is looking to escape.
Atsushi is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Atsushi drops an elbow to the side of Gabriel 's head.
Atsushi wants to pass the guard but Gabriel is defending well.
Atsushi wants to take a breather but Gabriel is having none of it.

Atsushi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gabriel has managed to free his arm - good work.
Atsushi slips a nice elbow through Gabriel 's hands, connecting with Gabriel 's forehead.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Atsushi landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Atsushi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Atsushi tries to pass to full mount but Gabriel defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gabriel tries to roll over but Atsushi keeps him under control.
Atsushi winds up and cracks Gabriel with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Atsushi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Gabriel !

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Atsushi scoring with strikes but Gabriel is staying in there.

Gabriel is rocked!

It looks like Melvin Gabriel has been cut.
Gabriel is breathing heavily.
Atsushi loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Gabriel scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Atsushi land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Atsushi stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kuroda Atsushi!
In his post fight interview, Kuroda Atsushi gave a big smile as he said 'Guilherme Alves is a little punk and my training partner Akihito Tatsuhiko is going to mess him up on December 17th!!'.
