Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Norman Osborn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osborn tries to move into range but Hunter moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Hunter shoots for a takedown but Osborn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hunter fails with a takedown attempt.
Hunter fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Hunter looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Hunter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Osborn looking for a sweep. Not yet Osborn, not yet.
Hunter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Osborn is keeping the position for now.
Hunter wants to control from the top but Osborn keeps moving.

Hunter postures up in Osborn's guard and throws a big left but Osborn blocks it.

Hunter stays in close to Osborn's body and controls the position.
Osborn is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hunter fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Norman Osborn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Hunter.
Hunter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Osborn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hunter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Osborn as he jumps to the side.

Osborn tries to clinch but Hunter is having none of it.
Hunter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Osborn moves away.

Osborn is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hunter's half guard.
Osborn thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hunter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Osborn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Osborn's back!

Osborn defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A lull in the action here.
Hunter is throwing strikes by Osborn counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Osborn regains half guard.

Hunter missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Hunter tries to pass to full mount but Osborn defends it.
Osborn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hunter.
Hunter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Osborn keeps working.
Osborn won't allow Hunter to pass to mount.
Hunter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Hunter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Osborn sees it coming and defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hunter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Osborn has managed to free his arm - good work.
Osborn is looking for a sweep. Hunter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hunter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Osborn keeps working.

Hunter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hunter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Osborn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hunter misses with a head shot. Osborn uses the momentum to regain guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Hunter dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hunter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Osborn shoots in for a takedown but Hunter shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hunter shoots in for a double leg but Osborn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Osborn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Osborn shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hunter defends it nicely.
The crowd cheers as Hunter lands an impressive looking overhand right. Osborn doesn't seem phased though.
Osborn fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Norman Osborn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hunter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Osborn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hunter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Osborn is one step ahead there.
Hunter keeping moving, preventing Osborn from controlling successfully.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Osborn's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hunter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hunter is trying to hold Osborn in close to prevent damage but Osborn has managed to pass into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Osborn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Osborn's back!
Osborn trying to control the hands but Hunter won't let him.
Osborn is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hunter looking for the choke but no joy.
You can see the frustration on Osborn's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Hunter is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Osborn has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Well, with Hunter on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Osborn is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Osborn prevents Hunter from getting a body triangle.
Hunter missing with punches from the back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Osborn trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Hunter wants to control but Osborn is keeping busy.
Osborn wants to escape the position.
Hunter connects with a big shot to the side of Osborn's head.
Will Hunter go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Osborn is trying to break free.

Osborn won't enjoy being in this position. Hunter looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Osborn is tapping - it's over boys! Hunter picks up the submission victory!
