The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Mies.
Mies on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Stavrov. Stavrov obviously looking to wear him down.
Stavrov looks to score with a jab to the body but Mies is just out of range.
Stavrov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Stavrov feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mies's calf.
Mies takes a swing at Stavrov's ribcage but misses.

Horrible takedown by Mies or perhaps it was just good defense by Stavrov which made him look bad.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Stavrov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Stavrov throws a leg kick which misses Mies's front leg but catches the back leg as Mies tries to avoid it.

Stavrov jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mies is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mies and Stavrov has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stavrov looks up at the clock and then as Mies takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Stavrov smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Stavrov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mies to see if he's OK.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Stavrov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mies has managed to free his arm - good work.
Stavrov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mies does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

and Stavrov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That kick from Mies tenderised Stavrov's leg. Stavrov is trying to keep his angry face on.
