Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Craig Hanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter shoots for a takedown but Hanks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hunter moves out of range of the strikes.
Hanks throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hanks throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hunter moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Hunter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hanks tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hunter is in Hanks's guard.
Hanks not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hanks can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hunter controls the pace.

Hunter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
