PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Henry Beninth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fook yu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). yu has chosen MegaDeth- This Day We FIGHT! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Henry Beninth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fook yu!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from yu does no damage.
Beninth throws a quick head kick that skims the top of yu's head.

yu forces Beninth back against the cage and clinches.
yu gets through Beninth's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
yu tries for a takedown. No joy.
Beninth is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but yu is keeping busy.

yu tightens his grip and picks Beninth up, before dumping him to the ground. Beninth manages to land in guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
yu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beninth swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Beninth wants to sweep but no luck.
Beninth bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in yu's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Beninth trying to control the position from guard on top but yu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Beninth slips nicely into half guard.
yu is trying to get back to full guard.

yu trying to control from the bottom.
Beninth trying to control from yu's half guard. yu has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Beninth looking to pass the guard.
yu wants to sweep here but Beninth controlling him for the moment.
Beninth working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Beninth pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. yu is keeping the position for now.
yu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

yu landing strikes, looking to finish!
Beninth is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Beninth is trying desperately to improve position.
Beninth tries to hold on but yu postures up.
A nice elbow there by yu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
BOOM! yu connects with a massive shot to the dome!
yu pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
yu raining down hammerfists from mount.

Beninth is rocked!
yu is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Oh Beninth is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
yu landing strikes, looking to finish!
yu lands with some strikes.
yu controlling the pace for now.
yu cracks Beninth with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
