Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dest Royer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Royer's entrance music is 2Г5Р1О7Т - Дым. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dest Royer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Billy Do!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Royer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Do manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Royer dodges the punch combination from Do.
Some wild striking there from Do.
Do throws a right hand that Royer ducks under and follows up with a left that Royer also avoids with ease.

Do looking to score a takedown here. Royer is defending well but Do drives through and ends up in Royer's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Royer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Do with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Do makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Do stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Royer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Do is fighting to break Royer's control of his arms but Royer is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Do pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Royer is keeping the position for now.

Do stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Royer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Do postures up in Royer's guard and throws a big left but Royer blocks it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Do throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Royer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Royer keeping moving, preventing Do from controlling successfully.
Royer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Billy Do was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Royer tries to close the distance and clinch but Do swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Do just misses with a punch to the body.
A slow jab from Do misses its intended target.
A head kick misses from Do.
Royer lunges at Do with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Do's hand.
The fighters circling - Do throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Do throws a right and a left that Royer avoids nicely.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Royer turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Royer fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Do takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Do has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Dest Royer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Do throws a lazy right hand but Royer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Royer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Royer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Billy Do seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Do throws an overhand right that lands on Royer's shoulder, as Royer tries to avoid the shot.

Horrible takedown by Royer or perhaps it was just good defense by Do which made him look bad.
Do throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Royer closes the distance and clinches up with Do, looking for a takedown. Royer pushes Do against the cage but Do circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Royer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Do is fending him off so far but Royer persists. Nope, Do circles away and we're back to standing.

Do throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Royer's head.

Royer gets tackled into the cage by Do. Do maintains the clinch.

Do's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Royer's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Do trying to control the position but instead, Royer has worked for underhooks and has pushed Do into the cage.
Do misses with a body punch.
Do is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Royer is defending well for now.

Do struggles to land a body shot inside as Royer controls his hands.
Do tries a body shot but Royer blocks it.
Royer misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Do.

Do tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Royer's elbow.
Royer pushes Do back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Do tries to land knees in the clinch but Royer avoids the damage to the body.

Royer tries for a takedown but Do manages to get underhooks.

Do tries to work over Royer's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Royer is trying to drag Do to the mat but Do just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Do struggles to land a body shot inside as Royer controls his hands.
Do on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Royer lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Do backwards.
Royer blocks a body shot from Do.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Do tries to throw a body punch but Royer avoids it by throwing Do back against the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Do has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Royer is looking to clinch.
Royer shoots in for a takedown but Do shows good takedown defense.

Do drives through with a takedown into guard.
Do throws and elbow that misses. Royer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Do's guard. Nice move by Royer!

Royer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Do has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Royer's face.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Royer seems to have got his legs back now.
Do postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Royer looks a forlorn figure.
Do loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Royer scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Do land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Do stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy Do!
