PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jackson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mortal Kombat. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rashad Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Junior!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Junior feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Junior is working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson frees his head quite easily.

Junior has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.

Junior shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Let's hope that Junior has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jorge Junior showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Junior clobbers Jackson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Jackson needs to keep his hands up - Junior had a free shot at his head there.

and Junior counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard.

Junior slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Junior goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Jorge Junior is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Oh Jackson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


It looks like Rashad Jackson has been cut.

Junior is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jackson seems to have got his legs back now.
Jackson leaves Junior with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Junior lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Junior shoots in looking for a takedown but Jackson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Junior's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The crowd cheers as Junior lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jackson doesn't seem phased though.

Junior bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jorge Junior comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Junior has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
