The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Burlaka throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Burlaka counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Burlaka throws a series of punches but Cheung avoids them all with ease.
Cheung pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Burlaka back to the ropes. Cheung follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Cheung lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Burlaka sprawling to the canvas. Cheung follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Burlaka hang on?

Cheung bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Burlaka's head.

Cheung drops Burlaka with a left and a right! Oh, Burlaka is hurt - Cheung dives into side control looking to finish!

The cut above Deniska Burlaka's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Cheung decides to stand back up. Cheung steps back and let's Burlaka get back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cheung lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Burlaka feints a jab promting Cheung to slip. Burlaka then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cheung slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Burlaka blocks a head kick by Cheung.
Burlaka misses with a series of wild punches.
Burlaka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Eddie Cheung is winning the standup battle so far.
Burlaka throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Deniska Burlaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burlaka will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Burlaka throws a nice looking combination but Cheung bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No joy there for Burlaka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Burlaka takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Burlaka walks straight into a right hand from Cheung - that's dropped him! Cheung jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Burlaka from any more punishment! Burlaka complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
