Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Skerlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick Skerlik is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kuroda Atsushi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Skerlik!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skerlik with a lazy takedown attempt
and Atsushi counters with a good low kick that Skerlik was not able to check.
Atsushi drives through with a takedown into Skerlik's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Atsushi content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Atsushi is pushing down on Skerlik's leg trying to pass to half guard. Skerlik is fighting to maintain full guard but Atsushi has managed to sneak the leg through.
Atsushi thows a huge punch but Skerlik dodges it nicely.
Atsushi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Skerlik on the ground.

Skerlik is staying active underneath Atsushi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Atsushi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Skerlik is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Atsushi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Atsushi is nestled in close to Skerlik, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Atsushi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Skerlik knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Atsushi working over Skerlik with some ground and pound. Skerlik looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Skerlik is rocked!

Atsushi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Skerlik is still in real trouble! Can Atsushi finish him?
Atsushi is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Skerlik is hurt! He's hurt bad - Atsushi fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Skerlik from any more punishment! Congratulations to Atsushi! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kuroda Atsushi!
An intense looking Kuroda Atsushi took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Guilherme Alves is a little punk and my training partner Akihito Tatsuhiko is going to mess him up on December 17th!!'.
