PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mamed Khalidovv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Mcgrath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalidovv comes to the cage accompanied by Shamhan Daldaev - Eto Kavkaz . Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalidovv wants to clinch up but Mcgrath keeps it at a distance.

Khalidovv closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mcgrath pushes Khalidovv away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Khalidovv gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Mcgrath is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Khalidovv is controlling him well.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mcgrath looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mcgrath throws a nice looking combination but Khalidovv bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Khalidovv closes the distance and clinches up with Mcgrath, looking for a takedown. Khalidovv pushes Mcgrath against the cage but Mcgrath circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Khalidovv counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mcgrath's guard now.

Khalidovv postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mcgrath is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Khalidovv, into his guard.

Mcgrath slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mcgrath decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Khalidovv, up you get!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khalidovv shoots in but no luck this time.

Sloppy strikes from Mcgrath. Those never looked like landing.

Mcgrath will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mcgrath tries to bum rush Khalidovv with a series of wild strikes but Khalidovv uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Khalidovv shoots for a double leg takedown but Mcgrath sprawls well. He's pushed Khalidovv's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
