The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali lands a nice looking body kick.
Ali looks to land a body kick but Funktastic moved away.
Ali misses with a hook. Funktastic ducked under it nicely.

Ali throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Funktastic on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Ali misses with a kick to the body
and Funktastic counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Hazan Ali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ali swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ali throws a sloppy head kick and Funktastic moves out of range easily.

Ali pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Ali misses the target.
Funktastic dips to his left and cracks Ali with an uppercut!

and Funktastic connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Ali throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Funktastic gets the takedown into side control.
Funktastic wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ali, who protects the arm well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Funktastic in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Ali is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
