PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Baramari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blow Jimmy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baramari comes to the cage accompanied by Schmoyoho - Winning - a Song by Charlie Sheen. Jimmy has chosen Take a lick as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Baramari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Blow Jimmy!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jimmy clinches.
Jimmy lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Baramari tries to work over Jimmy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Jimmy wants the takedown. Baramari is fighting it off but Jimmy persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Baramari's guard against the cage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jimmy wants to control from the top but Baramari keeps moving.
Baramari wants to control but Jimmy passes easily into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jimmy stops Baramari from getting back to his feet.
Jimmy looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Baramari wants to get back to his feet.
Baramari knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jimmy on the ground.

Jimmy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baramari keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Jimmy is looking to advance position but Baramari won't allow it.
Baramari gets full guard.

Jimmy stopping the sweep attempt from Baramari.

Jimmy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jimmy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jimmy tries to free his leg and advance position but Baramari is retaining full guard.
Baramari wants to sweep here but Jimmy controlling him for the moment.

Baramari is trying to keep Jimmy in close.

Baramari can't keep his opponent in guard - Jimmy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Jimmy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Jimmy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Baramari is just riding it out for now. Jimmy eventually gives up the hold.

Jimmy is trying to control. Baramari wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Jimmy working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Baramari wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blow Jimmy dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Jimmy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Baramari throws a head kick but Jimmy moves out of range.
Bob Baramari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jimmy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Baramari did well to prevent Jimmy getting side control.

Jimmy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Baramari wants to get back to his feet but Jimmy passes into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jimmy lands a nice short elbow.
Jimmy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Baramari knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Baramari wants to get back to full guard.
Baramari wants to get back to full guard but Jimmy has passed into side control.
Baramari tries to bench press Jimmy off him but Jimmy keeps the position.

Jimmy wants to control but Baramari is keeping him busy.
Baramari tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jimmy is staying tight to Baramari's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Jimmy trying to control the position but Baramari is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jimmy advances to full mount.

Baramari is looking to improve his position but Jimmy isn't that keen on the idea.
Jimmy with shots to the head and body - Baramari looks very uncomfortable down there.

Baramari tries to lock up and control but Jimmy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jimmy is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Baramari to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Baramari shrugs it off.
Jimmy content just to control the position here.
Baramari is wriggling around trying to escape.
Baramari is trying to reverse the position but instead Jimmy has taken his back - oops!

Jimmy has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A lull in the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blow Jimmy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Baramari finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Jimmy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jimmy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Baramari moves away.
Baramari lands with a kick to the ribs.
Jimmy sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Baramari swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jimmy avoids the head kick by Baramari.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Baramari fakes the leg kick and cracks Jimmy in the body.
Baramari dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Baramari misses with a two punch combination.
Baramari throws a combination. Jimmy tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Blow Jimmy has been cut.
Baramari bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Baramari lands with a kick to the temple. Jimmy shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
A head kick misses from Baramari.
Baramari misses with a head kick.
Baramari scores with a jab to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Baramari pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jimmy tries to close the distance and clinch but Baramari swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Baramari misses with a body kick.
Baramari misses with the combination.
Baramari throws a right and a left that Jimmy avoids nicely.
Baramari misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jimmy lands a right hook to the body.
Bob Baramari is winning the standup battle so far.
Baramari ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jimmy moves away.
Jimmy connects with a right hand. Baramari shakes it off.
Jimmy fails to land the takedown.
Jimmy blocks a head kick by Baramari.
Nice jab there from Jimmy.
Jimmy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jimmy takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Jimmy lands a body shot.
Jimmy wants to clinch up but Baramari keeps it at a distance.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jimmy.
Baramari lands with a nice body kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Baramari avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Baramari. No joy for Jimmy on that attempt.
Baramari throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jimmy.
Baramari gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jimmy swings for the body but Baramari moves out of range.
Jimmy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Baramari paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Baramari bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bob Baramari is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jimmy tries to clinch but Baramari is having none of it.
Baramari throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jimmy swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Baramari comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Baramari looks to land a combination. Jimmy sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Baramari connects with a high kick.
Bob Baramari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Baramari pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Horrible takedown by Jimmy or perhaps it was just good defense by Baramari which made him look bad.
Bob Baramari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Blow Jimmy.
Jimmy takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Baramari stalks Jimmy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jimmy's face. Jimmy staggers backwards, shaken.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jimmy avoids the head kick by Baramari.
Bob Baramari is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Baramari takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Baramari takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jimmy misses with a wild body shot.
Jimmy pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Baramari feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jimmy's calf.
Baramari looks to land a body kick but Jimmy moved away.
Baramari throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Jimmy shoots in for a takedown but Baramari shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Baramari takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Baramari tries to work over Jimmy's front leg with a kick but Jimmy checks it.
Baramari tried to score with a low kick but Jimmy checks it.
Jimmy lands with a right hand.
Jimmy scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Baramari throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Baramari throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jimmy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jimmy lands in his opponent's guard.
Jimmy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bob Baramari showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jimmy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
