PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Kint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Cullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard Cullen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Kint!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard Cullen!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kint fails with the takedown
and Cullen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Cullen throws out a powerful jab.
Kint throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice sprawl there from Cullen as Kint shoots in.

and Cullen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Kint shoots in for a takedown but Cullen shows good takedown defense.

Kint throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cullen sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kint tries to keep at a distance but Cullen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cullen is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Kint tries to stall but Cullen uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Cullen tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kint avoids it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cullen lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Cullen lands a hook that snaps the head of Kint backwards.
Cullen tries a body shot but Kint blocks it.
Cullen swings away with an uppercut that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kint has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cullen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kint.

Cullen decides to take the fight back to the feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Cullen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kint is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Kint closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kint is trying to work for a kimura but Cullen is defending well.
Cullen is staying active underneath Kint, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Kint wants to sweep here but Cullen controlling him for the moment.
Kint is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kint seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cullen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kint displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cullen throws out the jab.

Cullen catches Kint with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Kint fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cullen manages to avoid it.
Kint scores with a jab. Cullen acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Cullen closes the distance and pushes Kint back into the cage.
Cullen fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Cullen blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Cullen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kint jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cullen walks away with a smile on his face. Kint gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cullen throws the left hand but Kint avoids the punch easily.

Kint decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Cullen is defending against the submission attempts here by Kint.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cullen wants to get back to full guard.
Cullen is staying active underneath Kint, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Cullen is looking for a sweep. Kint is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roger Kint.
I think Kint has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
