PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Wu Tang - Triumph. D has chosen do it as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rashad Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy D!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D takes a swing at Jackson's ribcage but misses.
D throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That kick from Jackson tenderised D's leg. D is trying to keep his angry face on.
D misses with a body shot.
Jackson throws a quick inside leg kick.

Jackson rushes D and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
D swings wildly with an uppercut but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jackson lands a hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Roy D has been cut.
Jackson works on D's body with a couple of short punches.
Jackson can't find room to land a body shot as D controls the action.
Stalling in the clinch from Jackson.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jackson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

D has hold of Jackson's hands but Jackson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

D is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jackson is looking to advance position but D won't allow it.

Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and D defends it well.
D is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jackson is working for a kimura but D is defending it quite comfortably.
D slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Jackson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jackson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jackson is looking to take a break and control but D is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

D is trying to escape the position but Jackson is controlling the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sloppy strikes from D. Those never looked like landing.
Jackson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as D throws out the jab.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from D is defended easily by Jackson.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
D is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jackson.
D loads up on a big right hand but Jackson slips the punch.

A looping hook to the body misses from Jackson. D does a little dance to reset his feet.

Jackson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt D.

Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura but D is defending well.
Jackson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Jackson lands a big elbow - D is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and D is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Rashad Jackson!
Rashad Jackson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
