Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charles Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flare has chosen Also Sprach Zarathustra as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Bronson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Flare!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Bronson does it's job there.
Flare moves out of range of the strikes.

Bronson gets caught napping as Flare dives in and scores a takedown. Bronson manages to retain guard.
Bronson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bronson trying to control the position.
Bronson wants to sweep here but Flare controlling him for the moment.
Flare postures up.
Bronson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Flare.
Flare makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Flare stands and throws Bronson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Bronson is looking for a sweep.
Bronson is working hard here to advance position.
Bronson is not content to let Flare control the position.
Bronson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Flare on the ground.

Flare landing strikes.
Bronson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Bronson can't do much from the bottom here.
Bronson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bronson tries to get out of the position.
Flare creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bronson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Flare working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Flare happy to just control the position for now.
Flare wants to control but Bronson is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Flare working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Flare thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Flare is trying to get an arm triangle but Bronson is defending well.
Bronson pushes Flare away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Flare gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Flare in side control lands a decent elbow.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Flare trying to control the action but Bronson is working from the bottom.

Flare tries for a kimura but Bronson is defending well.
Flare trying to control the position but Bronson is working away.
Flare lands an elbow.

Flare thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Flare cracks Bronson with a big elbow.
Flare tries to advance to mount but can't.
You can see the frustration on Bronson's face as Flare controls the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Flare working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Flare misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Flare wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bronson keeps working.
Flare gets to mount! Bronson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Flare postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bronson looks a forlorn figure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Flare working away from the top, dropping strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Flare pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Flare controlling his opponent.
Flare with the ground and pound from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rick Flare dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bronson tries a head kick but it misses.
Bronson throws a leg kick that misses.
Flare scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Flare shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Flare has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bronson controlling the position.
Flare throwing strikes but missing.
Flare advances position into side control!
Bronson on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Flare moves into full mount!
Rick Flare has got the better of the ground game so far.
Flare is landing with some decent strikes but Bronson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The referee warns Bronson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Flare tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bronson is bucking up trying to escape but Flare cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Flare working for a submission but Bronson is keeping him at bay.
Flare scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Flare cracks Bronson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bronson is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Flare cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Flare lands a big elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Flare is trying to control here but Bronson has managed to regain half guard.
Flare working the head and body with strikes.

Bronson is defending against the submission attempts here by Flare.
Flare with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Bronson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Flare.
Bronson tries to kick Flare off but Flare keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Flare is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Flare in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Bronson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Flare!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rick Flare!
After the fight, Rick Flare was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
