Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricco El Suave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Shields!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El Suave displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shields.
El Suave connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shields. Shields circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Shields forces El Suave back against the cage and clinches.
El Suave is pressed up against the cage. Shields has hold of a leg and is looking to drag El Suave down to the mat. El Suave avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
El Suave lands a nice looking body shot.

El Suave fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shields, pushing him back against the cage.

It looks like Jake Shields has been cut.
Shields jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as El Suave walks away with a smile on his face. Shields gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

El Suave moves into range and clinches up with Shields.
Shields has El Suave pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. El Suave manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
El Suave throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Shieldss head.
El Suave lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shields backwards.

Shields decides to pull guard.
El Suave wanted to stand there but Shields had control of the position.
Shields is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Shields escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. El Suave gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ricco El Suave will probably get the nod.

El Suave stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and El Suave wants it to stay on the feet.
El Suave scores with a one two! Shields had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
No joy there for El Suave, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

El Suave bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shields's head.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for El Suave, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
