Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Temugin Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauri Alavaara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan comes to the cage accompanied by War Dogs. Temugin Khan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alavaara moves into the clinch successfully.
Alavaara is looking to control Khan's arms but Khan gets an underhook and turns him. Now Alavaara has his back to the cage.
Alavaara blocks a punch to the side of the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Khan creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Khan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Alavaara is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Alavaara looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Alavaara lands a good knee to the midsection. Khan won't want to take too many of those.

Alavaara does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Khan throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Alavaara chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Khan can pounce on him.

Khan fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Alavaara is out of range.
Khan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Alavaara takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Alavaara pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Mauri Alavaara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Alavaara, right into the meat.
Khan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Khan lands an overhand right.

Alavaara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Alavaara misses with a jab to the body
and Alavaara takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Khan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Khan tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Khan is breathing heavily.
Alavaara throws the kick towards the body but Khan avoids it.
A jab lands there for Alavaara.
Alavaara moves out of range as Khan throws a body kick.
Alavaara looks to land a combination but Khan avoids it well.
Alavaara lands a right hook to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Alavaara closes the distance and clinches.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Khan swats away the attempt to clinch by Alavaara.
Alavaara lands a nice shot to the body.
Khan throws a sloppy head kick and Alavaara moves out of range easily.
Alavaara keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Alavaara looks to land a body kick but Khan moved away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Khan.

Alavaara scores with a nice body kick.
Alavaara throws a right and a left that Khan avoids nicely.
Khan throws a leg kick which misses Alavaara's front leg but catches the back leg as Alavaara tries to avoid it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Alavaara connects with the punch.
Khan tries to work over Alavaara's front leg with a kick but Alavaara checks it.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Khan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Alavaara - the referee stops the clock and Khan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Alavaara. Khan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Khan throws an overhand right that lands on Alavaara's shoulder, as Alavaara tries to avoid the shot.
Alavaara cracks Khan with an open hand slap.

Khan gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Khan is rocked!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Alavaara! Khan is out on his feet! Alavaara rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Khan is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Khan is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
