Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vince Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Garris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garris has chosen Blowin Money Fast by: Rick Ross as his entrance music. Vince Dixon could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rex Garris's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vince Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Garris!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon moves in looking to clinch but Garris pushes him off.

Garris closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dixon did well to prevent Garris getting side control.
Dixon wants to get back to full guard.
Dixon makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dixon.
Garris postures up.
Dixon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Garris drops back looking for a leg! Dixon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dixon manages to kick Garris off! Garris jumps back into Dixon's guard.
Garris wants to pass the guard but Dixon is keeping the position.
Dixon is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Garris is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dixon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dixon looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Garris has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dixon is proving hard to escape from.

Dixon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Garris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Garris pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dixon is keeping the position for now.
Garris is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Garris trying to control but Dixon is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rex Garris was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Garris takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dixon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dixon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Garris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dixon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dixon lands with an overhand left.
Dixon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Garris swats away the attempt to clinch by Dixon.

Dixon takes the fight into the clinch.
Garris throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Dixon blocks it with crossed arms.
Dixon trying to control the position but instead, Garris has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dixon into the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dixon tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Dixon is trying to maintain a safe position but Garris gets an underhook and turns Dixon into the cage.
Garris wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dixon has him pressed against the cage.
Garris is trying to pull guard but Dixon turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Garris avoids a wild elbow strike from Dixon.
Dixon tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Garris's elbow.
Garris jumps guard but Dixon stands there with Garris around his waist. Garris gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Vince Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Garris.
Garris wants to take the fight to the mat but Dixon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Dixon creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Garris has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dixon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Dixon misses with a body punch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Garris.


It looks like Vince Dixon has been cut.
Garris tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dixon's elbow.
Garris tries a knee to the head but Dixon blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Garris lands a left hand.
Stalling in the clinch from Dixon.
Garris lands an elbow inside.

Garris is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dixon can't fight it off and eventually Garris manages to take the fight to the floor. Dixon looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Garris wants to stand but Dixon is controlling his posture from full guard.
Garris pushing down on Dixon's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dixon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Dixon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vince Dixon will probably get the nod.

Dixon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Garris closes the distance and clinches up with Dixon, looking for a takedown. Garris pushes Dixon against the cage but Dixon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dixon is looking to land body kicks.
Horrible takedown by Garris or perhaps it was just good defense by Dixon which made him look bad.
Vince Dixon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dixon tries to clinch there but Garris circles away.
Dixon lands the left hand.

Garris clinches with his opponent.
Garris fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Vince Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rex Garris.

Dixon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garris looking to control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Garris keeping moving, preventing Dixon from controlling successfully.
Dixon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dixon passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Garris tries to escape but Dixon is in control.
Dixon working the ground and pound.
Dixon is looking to take a break and control but Garris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Garris tries to improve position but can't.
Dixon tries to score with some ground and pound. Garris controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Garris taking punishment in the form of punches.
Garris looking for a sweep but Dixon has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Vince Dixon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dixon in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.


Garris is rocked!
Oooh a big shot lands for Dixon! Garris is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
