Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nintendo Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Hoberman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takada's entrance music is Super Mario Bros Theme Soundtrack . A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takada thows a body shot but no joy.
Takada avoids the head kick by Hoberman.

and Takada counters with a stiff right hand.
Mitch Hoberman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hoberman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hoberman moves in looking to clinch but Takada pushes him off.

Mitch Hoberman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Takada takes a swing at Hoberman's ribcage but misses.
Hoberman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Takada has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hoberman moves in looking to clinch but Takada pushes him off.

Hoberman parries the strikes from Takada easily there. Takada is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hoberman to escape.

Takada swings around for an armbar but Hoberman sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Takada's guard.

Hoberman wants to stand but Takada is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's time! Takada's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hoberman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hoberman fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Takada.

Takada throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hoberman's waist but Hoberman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Takada off to one side.

and Takada makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Takada lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hoberman circles away quickly and effectively.

Takada tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hoberman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Takada somewhat.
Takada is looking to wear down Hoberman with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Takada avoids a wild elbow strike from Hoberman.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Takada tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Takada creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Mitch Hoberman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Hoberman stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Takada.
The crowd cheers as Hoberman lands an impressive looking overhand right. Takada doesn't seem phased though.

Hoberman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Takada tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hoberman was well out of range. Poor timing from Takada.
Takada dives in and grabs Hoberman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hoberman pushes down on Takada's head and hops out.

Hoberman tries to move into range but Takada moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Hoberman works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Takada misses with a takedown attempt - Hoberman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nintendo Takada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Nintendo Takada overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
