Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lupercal Abaddon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Grant!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abaddon misses with a low kick.
Nice body punch from Grant.
Grant avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Grant fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Abaddon dodges the punch combination from Grant.
Ted Grant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abaddon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Grant misses with a wild combination.
Good leg kick by Abaddon there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Abaddon takes one on the button.
It looks like Lupercal Abaddon has been cut.
Abaddon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Abaddon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Grant connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Abaddon scrambles back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Grant lands a jab to Abaddon's midsection.
Grant throws a shot from downtown. Abaddon moves away and avoids it.
Grant swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Grant misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Abaddon on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Grant feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Abaddon sprawling to the canvas! Abaddon rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Grant finish him?!
Abaddon is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grant batters Abaddon with a massive right followed by a huge left! Abaddon is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Grant lands a final crushing right hand to drop Abaddon to the mat with a gruesome thud! Grant is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ted Grant!
