Doherty throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Male was covering up waiting for the punch and Doherty finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Male can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Doherty controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doherty's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Doherty throws a strike but Male rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Doherty isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Male stacks Doherty on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Male!

Doherty closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

After the fight, Pete Doherty was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
