The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Crakudo is defended easily by Ijima.
Crakudo fails with the takedown

and Ijima decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Crakudo's guard.
Ijima distracts Crakudo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ijima is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ijima has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ijima drops back looking for a leg! Crakudo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Crakudo manages to kick Ijima off! Ijima jumps back into Crakudo's guard.

Ijima is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Crakudo will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Ijima is putting a hurting on Crakudo here, landing some big shots from side control.
Crakudo takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ijima wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Crakudo, who protects the arm well.

Ijima thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ijima lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Crakudo takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
