Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Burkhart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Marciano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marciano has chosen lets dance as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Burkhart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rocky Marciano!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Marciano misses its intended target.
Marciano takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Marciano rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Burkhart moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Burkhart shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marciano sprawls well. Marciano wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Burkhart gets slowly back to his feet.
Burkhart uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Marciano.

Burkhart drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Burkhart wants to control from the top but Marciano keeps moving.

Marciano looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Burkhart passes into half guard.

Burkhart is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Marciano has managed to free his arm - good work.

Burkhart is looking for a kimura here.
Marciano is looking to improve his position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Marciano manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Marciano looking for a sweep. Not yet Marciano, not yet.
Burkhart wants to control from the top but Marciano keeps moving.

Burkhart is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Marciano is pulling down on Burkhart's head. It's preventing any offense from Burkhart, at least for the moment.

Marciano looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Burkhart working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Marciano has his foot on Burkhart's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burkhart works his way back into a safe position though.
Marciano tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Burkhart forces his way into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marciano gets back to full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Burkhart stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marciano swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Marciano uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Marciano throws a series of strikes that have Burkhart backpedaling.
Burkhart fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Marciano throws a right and a left that both miss.
Marciano stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marciano wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Burkhart. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Marciano swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Burkhart.

Marciano lands a jab to Burkhart's midsection.
Burkhart dodges the punch combination from Marciano.
Marciano clobbers Burkhart with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Marciano misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Burkhart takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Marciano shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Burkhart defends it nicely.

Burkhart takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Marciano has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Burkhart has a takedown stuffed.

Marciano forces Burkhart back against the cage and clinches.

Marciano pulls guard.
Burkhart throwing strikes but missing.

Marciano is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Burkhart is aware though and is defending well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Marciano keeping moving, preventing Burkhart from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rocky Marciano dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Burkhart looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Burkhart wants to work for an arm triangle but Marciano is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Burkhart is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marciano defends it well.
Marciano works his way to full guard. Good work.

Marciano is looking for a triangle but Burkhart pushes his legs off easily.

Burkhart avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Burkhart wants to control from the top but Marciano keeps moving.

Marciano is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Burkhart defends well.

Marciano looking to hit a scissor sweep but Burkhart is one step ahead there.

Marciano has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Burkhart doesn't defend quickly enough and Marciano has managed to lock this one up! Can Burkhart escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Marciano on a fantastic submission victory.
