Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gim Ruut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruut's entrance music is We´re Not Alone - Peeping Tom. A fine choice. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruut looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Souza is fending him off so far but Ruut persists. Nope, Souza circles away and we're back to standing.
Ruut closes the distance and clinches up with Souza, looking for a takedown. Ruut pushes Souza against the cage but Souza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ruut throws a one two combo.

Souza clinches up with Ruut and pushes him back against the cage.

Souza breaks the clinch.

Ruut gets caught flat footed, as Souza shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Souza gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ruut has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gim Ruut. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Souza takes the fight into the clinch.
Souza misses with a knee to the head.

Ruut successfully pulls guard.
Ruut is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Souza working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Souza stays in close to Ruut's body and controls the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Bruno Souza has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ruut wants to clinch but Souza slips to the side

and Souza moves into the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Souza fails to land.

Souza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ruut looks for a takedown but Souza sprawls well.

Souza clinches up with Ruut and pushes him back against the cage.

Souza keeps control of Ruut as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Souza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Souza throws a shot from downtown. Ruut moves away and avoids it.
Souza misses with a combination
and Souza takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ruut shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Souza as he avoids it easily.
Ruut tries to clinch but Souza moves away

and Souza counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Souza tries to stand and escape but Ruut is controlling the position.
Souza takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Souza is trying to work for a kimura but Ruut is defending well.
Souza looks gassed!
Souza trying to control from Ruut's half guard. Ruut has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Ruut not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Ruut has Souza pulled in close to control his posture.

Gim Ruut has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ruut looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Souza misses with an attempted mid kick.

and Souza counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ruut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ruut slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Souza is looking to take a break and control but Ruut is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Souza blocks the strikes from Ruut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Souza swats away the attempt to clinch by Ruut.
Ruut shoots in but no luck this time.

Souza closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ruut to the mat! Ruut manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ruut manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Souza manages to get himself to full guard.
Souza wants to sweep but no luck.
Souza is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Souza controls Ruut momentarily but Ruut frees himself.
Souza is breathing heavily.
Ruut is stalling in the full guard.

Souza keeping moving, preventing Ruut from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ruut tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ruut shoots for a takedown but Souza saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Souza dives in and scores a takedown into Ruut's guard.
Souza in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Souza must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Souza sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Ruut doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Souza paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Ruut - great work!
