Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chad Harkleroad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Wagner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harkleroad comes to the cage accompanied by I am a real American. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wagner closes the distance and clinches up with Harkleroad, looking for a takedown. Wagner pushes Harkleroad against the cage but Harkleroad circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Harkleroad keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Chad Harkleroad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Wagner.

Wagner looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Harkleroad seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Harkleroad throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Harkleroad lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.

Wagner tries to stand but Harkleroad is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wagner wants to control from the top but Harkleroad keeps moving.

Wagner is fighting to break Harkleroad's control of his arms but Harkleroad is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Harkleroad closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wagner quickly recovers to half guard.

Harkleroad is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wagner has managed to free his arm - good work.
Harkleroad slows the pace down in half guard.
Wagner is pressing down on Harkleroad's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wagner can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Harkleroad controls the pace.
Harkleroad's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wagner is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Harkleroad has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Wagner doesn't defend quickly enough and Harkleroad has managed to lock this one up! Can Wagner escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Harkleroad on a fantastic submission victory.
