Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Piano!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Suraski!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piano keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Piano misses with a wild body shot.
Suraski walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
A slow jab from Suraski misses its intended target.
Suraski shoots in for a double leg but Piano sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A lazy left from Piano finds it's target.
Suraski moves out of range of the leg kick from Piano.
Piano fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Piano stuffs the takedown attempt from Suraski. Suraski gets slowly back to his feet.
A bone on bone clash there as Suraski blocks the leg kick.
Suraski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Don Piano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Suraski.

Piano connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Suraski momentarily.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Piano is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Suraski has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Piano's face.
Piano wants to hold on but Suraski pushes him away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Don Piano has been cut.

Piano bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Piano wants to pass the guard but Suraski is keeping the position.

Piano is pushing down on Suraski's leg trying to pass to half guard. Suraski is fighting to maintain full guard but Piano has managed to sneak the leg through.

Piano got a little sloppy there for a moment and Suraski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Piano has managed to get both his arms back between Suraski's legs - danger averted.

A close round but Dave Suraski will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

That's time! Piano's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Suraski shoots for a double leg takedown but Piano sprawls well. He's pushed Suraski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Suraski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Piano circles away quickly and effectively.
Piano keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Piano connects with a good right hand that stumbles Suraski. Suraski circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Suraski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Suraski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Piano pinned against the cage. Piano gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Piano stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Piano wants it to stay on the feet.

Piano has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Suraski clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
