Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, BeeJay Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pablo Santos!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Penn gets a clinch.
Penn pushes Santos back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Penn creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Santos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Santos scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Santos misses with a wild body shot.
Penn looks to land a left hand but Santos moved out of range nicely.
Santos steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Penn.
Santos feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Penn's calf.
Pablo Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santos dodges the punch combination from Penn.
Santos's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Santos duly obliges.
A punch combination from Santos misses.
Santos throws a nice looking combination but Penn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Penn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Penn needs to keep his hands up - Santos had a free shot at his head there.
Decent striking displayed by Penn there.
Penn connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Santos throws a head kick that misses
and Penn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Santos throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Penn counters with a nice right hand that sends Santos toppling to the canvas! Santos scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Penn finish him?!


Santos is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Penn connects with a body shot.
Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Penn finish him?
Santos looks gassed!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Penn working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Penn misses with the head strike.
Santos drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Penn gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Santos blocking some punches.
Penn fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Penn swings wildly with an uppercut but Santos uses good head movement to avoid it.

Santos is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Penn pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Santos looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Penn misses with a hook from the clinch.
Santos looking for a takedown.
BeeJay Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pablo Santos.
Penn throws a punch but it's blocked by Santos.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Penn lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Santos backwards.

Penn drops Santos onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Santos is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Penn manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Penn goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Penn lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Penn lands a left hand that snaps the head of Santos backwards.
Santos is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Penn misses with a punch on the inside.
Penn looking to stall.
Penn lands a left hand.
Penn throws a big uppercut that drops Santos! More strikes from Penn and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Santos lies dazed against the cage as Penn celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). BeeJay Penn!
A relieved looking BeeJay Penn thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
