The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnsson ducks under a wild hook from Ismail.
Johnsson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ismail is defended easily by Johnsson.
Ismail will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johnsson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnsson wants it to stay on the feet.
Jim Johnsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wallid Ismail.

and Ismail counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jim Johnsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ismail closes the distance and clinches up with Johnsson, looking for a takedown. Ismail pushes Johnsson against the cage but Johnsson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A jab-cross combination lands for Johnsson and sends Ismail crashing to the mat! Johnsson follows him down to the mat - Ismail regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Wallid Ismail has been cut.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
