The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily

and Jackson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Jackson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Saunders avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Saunders tries to circle away but Jackson has him pinned against the cage.

Jackson lands an elbow that stopped Saunders in his tracks for a moment.
Jackson tries to pull guard but Saunders holds him up against the cage and eventually Jackson drops back down to his feet.

Saunders wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tristan Saunders.
Jackson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Saunders throws a right and a left that both miss.
Saunders throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Saunders off to one side.
Rampage Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tristan Saunders.
Jackson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jackson shoots in but Saunders avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Saunders tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Saunders leaves Jackson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Saunders gets a clinch.
Saunders throws a knee to the head but misses.
Jackson goes for a takedown attempt but Saunders pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Saunders. Jackson shrugs it off though.
No joy there for Saunders, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Saunders decides to pull guard.
Saunders is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saunders on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson is in a horrible position here. Saunders smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
