PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khal Drogo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tesco Vee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vee has chosen Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple man as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Khal Drogo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tesco Vee!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drogo closes the distance and clinches.

Drogo gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Vee regains guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Vee keeping moving, preventing Drogo from controlling successfully.
Drogo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Drogo wants to pass the guard but Vee is keeping the position.
Drogo won't allow Vee to sweep him here.
Vee has a closed guard, preventing Drogo from standing up.
Vee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Khal Drogo just wasn't active enough.
Vee looks to land a left hand but Drogo moved out of range nicely.
Drogo is looking to clinch but Vee is avoiding it.
Vee throws a series of punches but Drogo avoids them all with ease.
Vee misses with a hook.
Drogo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Drogo tries to clinch but Vee moves out of range.
Vee dips to his left and cracks Drogo with an uppercut!
Drogo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Drogo moves in looking to clinch but Vee pushes him off.

Vee gets tackled into the cage by Drogo. Drogo maintains the clinch.
Vee lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Vee gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Drogo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vee is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Vee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Vee ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drogo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Vee manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Drogo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Drogo moves in looking to clinch but Vee pushes him off.
Drogo throws a looping overhand right but Vee ducks down to avoid it.
Drogo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Drogo takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Vee gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Vee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Vee drives through and clinches with Drogo against the cage.

Vee manages to break the clinch.

Vee moves into range and clinches up with Drogo.
Vee lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Vee lands a right hand.
A head punch on the inside from Drogo fails to land.
Drogo fails to pull guard.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Vee.
Vee lands a right hand.

Drogo is rocked!
Vee lands with a left to the head.
Oh Drogo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vee dips a shoulder and cracks Drogo with a mighty uppercut! Drogo falls back against the cage and Vee unloads with a barrage of strikes! Drogo is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Vee screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tesco Vee!
