PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Olav Klint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Kudinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Klint comes into the arena with The Pixies - Tame blaring out of the sound system. Kudinov is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: hollywood undead- undead. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Olav Klint!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrew Kudinov!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kudinov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Kudinov darts in and clinches Klint up against the cage.

Klint works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Klint decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kudinov, up you get!

Klint closes the distance and clinches.

Klint ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Klint no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Klint is controlling Kudinov's posture.
Klint manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kudinov manages to get himself to full guard.
Kudinov is looking to stand back up but Klint counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kudinov.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, if Klint is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kudinov is looking to get back to is feet but Klint passes into side control.
Klint postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Klint tries to score with some ground and pound. Kudinov controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Kudinov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Klint is controlling him well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Klint scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kudinov to see if he's OK.
Klint tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
A lull in the action here as Klint stalls from top position.
Sloppy strikes there by Klint.
An elbow from Klint crashes against the mat.
The ground and pound from Klint seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Kudinov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Klint asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Klint has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kudinov tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Klint with shots to the head and body - Kudinov looks very uncomfortable down there.

Kudinov is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Klint loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Kudinov scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Klint land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Klint stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Olav Klint!
Olav Klint retains his bantamweight title!
After winning the bout, Olav Klint thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
