The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoost blocks a low kick nicely.
Hoost defending well as Thomas loads up on a big left hand.

Sebastiaan Hoost seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Thomas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hoost goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Thomas throws a low kick, looking for Hoost's leg but Hoost calmly moves out of range.

Thomas wants to slow Hoost down by chopping away at his legs.
Hoost throws a body punch but Thomas moves out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Hoost does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hoost crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Thomas - the referee stops the clock and Hoost gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Thomas. Hoost manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Thomas has Hoost pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Hoost is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Thomas - that's hurt Hoost badly! Oh, another knee lands and Hoost is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Hoost doesn't seem to be complaining.
