PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lincoln Burrows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tap Out (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lincoln Burrows!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tap Out!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Out with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Burrows lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Out shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Burrows sprawls well. Burrows wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Out gets slowly back to his feet.
Burrows feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Outs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Out has a takedown stuffed.
Burrows scores with a nice strike.
Lincoln Burrows seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burrows misses with a series of wild punches.
Burrows ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Out moves away.
Burrows avoids a kick to the body.
Burrows bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Out's head.
A punch lands to the side of Out 's head but he takes it in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A right-left combo lands from Burrows.
Out throws a right and a left that Burrows avoids nicely.
Burrows throws a poor cross that misses
and Out counters with a left and a right that stings Burrows.
Burrows throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Burrows throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Burrows waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Out.
Burrows throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Out staying out of range there.
Out tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burrows swivels and escapes.
Lincoln Burrows has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tap Out.
Burrows takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Burrows throws out a loose jab but Out uses good head movement to avoid it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Burrows enables Out to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Burrows manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Out drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Out jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Out working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Burrows wants to sweep but no luck.
Burrows preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Out postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Burrows will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Out distracts Burrows with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Out connects with a couple of short punches.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Out accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Out working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Out trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Out is working Burrows over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Out throwing strikes but missing.

Out is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Out is in close to Burrows's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Out wants to control from the top but Burrows keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Out's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burrows preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Burrows utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Out drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Out as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Burrows screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Out! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Tap Out!
Tap Out is the new light heavyweight champion!
