The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Livre takes a swing at Nakara's ribcage but misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Livre.
Livre misses with a body shot
and Nakara cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Livre takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Livre lands a slapping body shot.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Livre enables Nakara to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Livre manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Livre had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nakara defends it easily.

Livre has his foot on Nakara's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nakara works his way back into a safe position though.

Nakara pulls Livre in close to his closed guard and prevents Livre from doing any damage or advancing position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Livre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nakara pushes Livre off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Livre ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Livre feints and as Nakara raises his hands in defense, Livre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Livre tries to free his leg and advance position but Nakara is retaining full guard.

Livre drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nakara dives on top into guard.

Livre has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Nakara is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Livre.

Nakara is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Livre is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Livre is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Livre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nakara can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Luta Livre.
