The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Soldier darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lopez throws a head kick that misses.
Soldier scores with a kick to the body.
Lopez tries to bum rush Soldier with a series of wild strikes but Soldier uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lopez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Soldier has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Lopez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Pedro Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lopez ducks under a wild hook from Soldier.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lopez wants to control the pace but Soldier is squirming around nicely.

Soldier is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Lopez goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Soldier turns into him and now he's in Lopez's guard.
Soldier tries to stand but Lopez is controlling from the bottom.

Soldier got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lopez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Soldier has managed to get both his arms back between Lopez's legs - danger averted.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lopez fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Soldier to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Soldier looks to clinch but Lopez throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Soldier taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

After winning the bout, Pedro Lopez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
