Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goran Schwarzeneg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goran Schwarzeneg is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 30 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Goran Schwarzeneg!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes throws a hook but Schwarzeneg avoids it easily.
Schwarzeneg stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Barnes.
Barnes tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick misses from Schwarzeneg.
Schwarzeneg throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Barnes's head.


It looks like Rashad Barnes has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Schwarzeneg. Those never looked like landing.
Barnes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Schwarzeneg.
Schwarzeneg tries to clinch there but Barnes circles away.
Schwarzeneg is looking to clinch but Barnes is avoiding it.
Barnes stuns Schwarzeneg with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Barnes tries for a takedown but Schwarzeneg sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Schwarzeneg ducks under a wild hook from Barnes.

Schwarzeneg throws a nice looking combination but Barnes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Horrible takedown by Barnes or perhaps it was just good defense by Schwarzeneg which made him look bad.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barnes shoots in for a takedown but Schwarzeneg shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Barnes throws a body punch but Schwarzeneg moves out of range.
Barnes will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Barnes stuffs the takedown.
Schwarzeneg tries to clinch there but Barnes circles away.
Schwarzeneg looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Barnes throws a low kick but it's checked well by Schwarzeneg.
Barnes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Schwarzeneg manages to avoid it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Barnes.
Schwarzeneg looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Barnes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Barnes cracks Schwarzeneg with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Schwarzeneg is breathing heavily.

Barnes jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Schwarzeneg manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Barnes looks up at the clock and then as Schwarzeneg takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Barnes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Barnes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Schwarzeneg, who protects the arm well.
Barnes is working Schwarzeneg over with some ground and pound from side control.
Barnes throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Barnes misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Barnes is looking to take a break and control but Schwarzeneg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Barnes lands some shots froms side control.

Schwarzeneg tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Barnes postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Barnes is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Schwarzeneg has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Schwarzeneg!

Barnes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Schwarzeneg stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Barnes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Barnes throws a half hearted mid kick.
Barnes thows a body shot but no joy.
Schwarzeneg tries to clinch but Barnes moves out of range.
Barnes throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Schwarzeneg moves out of range of the strikes.
No luck for Schwarzeneg with that takedown attempt.
Barnes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Schwarzeneg looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Barnes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Schwarzeneg counters by moving into the clinch.

Schwarzeneg breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Schwarzeneg throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Barnes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Schwarzeneg's guard.

Schwarzeneg can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barnes controls the pace.

Barnes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Schwarzeneg's guard.

Schwarzeneg regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Barnes.
Schwarzeneg controls Barnes momentarily but Barnes frees himself.
Barnes trying to control the position from guard on top but Schwarzeneg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Barnes tries to free his leg and advance position but Schwarzeneg is retaining full guard.
