PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicky Mazzio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Stryker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mazzio comes into the arena with Thunderstruck AC / DC blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Stryker's choice of entrance music: Kanye West - Jesus Walks. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stryker gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mazzio to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Oooh a lovely combination from Mazzio sends Stryker down but not out. Mazzio dives into side control looking to finish.

Mazzio creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Stryker sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stryker parries the strikes from Mazzio easily there. Mazzio is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stryker to escape.
Mazzio is looking to take a break and control but Stryker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mazzio misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mazzio is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stryker can do to turn this around?
Stryker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mazzio shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Stryker eats them both and turns towards Mazzio to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Mazzio has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mazzio loads up on a big left hand. Stryker felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Mazzio looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Stryker can't hide his disappointment, as Mazzio celebrates the victory.

Nicky Mazzio decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
