The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samba keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hardon.
Hardon lands an overhand right.
Hardon jabs Samba to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Hardon fails in his attempt to clinch.
Christopher Samba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hardon stuffs the takedown.
Sloppy strikes from Hardon. Those never looked like landing.
Samba looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hardon is fending him off so far but Samba persists. Nope, Hardon circles away and we're back to standing.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hardon.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hardon is squirming around, avoiding Samba's attempts to control the action.
Samba is landing with some decent strikes but Hardon is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hardon is trying to escape the mount.

Samba can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hardon is looking to escape.
Hardon is desperately trying to improve his position but Samba has a good base and remains in mount.
Samba postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hardon looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardon is wriggling around trying to escape.
Samba fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Big Hardon's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
