Coming up we have a featherweight bout between John Chase and Hakuin Ekaku. Chase comes to the cage accompanied by All the Above - Maino. Hakuin Ekaku has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Chase's chin.

With a record of 3 wins, 0 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hakuin Ekaku!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ekaku looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nice sprawl there from Ekaku as Chase shoots in.
Chase changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ekaku tries to avoid it but Chase manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ekaku to the ground. Ekaku escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Chase fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Chase. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Chase shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ekaku connects with a jab.

Ekaku connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Chase to the floor! Ekaku dives in looking for the finish!

Chase is rocked!
Ekaku thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chase's head.
Oh Chase is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Well, if Ekaku is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Chase seems to have got his legs back now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ekaku wants to control but Chase is keeping him busy.
Ekaku prevents Chase from improving his position.
Chase wants to get back to full guard but Ekaku has mounted him!
Ekaku landing punches.
Chase keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Ekaku can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chase is looking to escape.

Ekaku controlling his opponent.
Chase regains half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chase is not content to let Ekaku control the position.
Chase wants to improve his position but Ekaku is controlling well.
Chase is working hard here to advance position.

Chase looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Ekaku is tying to control. Chase wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Chase tries to get to full guard but Ekaku has control of the leg.

Still in half guard, Ekaku seems content to control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Chase shoots for a takedown but Ekaku saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Ekaku as Chase shoots in.
Chase is breathing heavily.
Ekaku lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Chase takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Hakuin Ekaku is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ekaku cracks the inside of Chase's front leg.
Chase takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Chase shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ekaku as he jumps to the side.
Ekaku dances in with a quick combination. Chase is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Ekaku snaps Chase's head back. Chase stumbles backwards against the cage. Ekaku steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Chase's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Chase just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Hakuin Ekaku!
