Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonard Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haral Dir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Washington comes to the cage accompanied by Snuffed Out by Streetlife. The key to victory for Leonard Washington has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leonard Washington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Haral Dir!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dir blocks a jab.
Washington connects with a crisp jab.
Dir takes one to the side of the head.


It looks like Haral Dir has been cut.
Dir takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Washington lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dir misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Dir shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Dir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Washington keeps working.
Washington avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dir.
Dir takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Dir.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dir thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Washington is not content to let Dir control the position.
Washington taking some punishment here, with Dir in his half guard.
Washington wants to get back to full guard.
Washington blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dir.
Dir missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Dir tries to pass to full mount but Washington defends it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dir wants to take a breather but Washington is having none of it.
Washington regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dir throws a strike but Washington rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Washington postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Washington with a flurry of punches that miss.
Washington missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Washington throwing strikes from guard but Dir blocks nicely.
Dir manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Dir looking to ground and pound but Washington is blocking nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dir throws some wild stikes that Washington manages to avoid easily.

It looks like Leonard Washington has been cut.
Dir throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Washington because Dir loaded up on that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Washington is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Washington holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Dir tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dir throwing strikes here but Washington is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Haral Dir dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Washington tries to avoid it but Dir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Washington to the ground. Washington escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A jab from Washington does it's job there.
Dir shoots in and drives through. Washington sprawls well.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dir crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Washington - the referee stops the clock and Dir gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Washington. Dir manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Dir takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Washington lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


Dir is rocked!
Washington is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Washington shuts the power down on Dir. Lights out, game over! Washington is your winner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Leonard Washington!
Post fight, Leonard Washington stared into the camera and said 'L. Washington is fo reals and is here to stay...anyone that wants to stand and throw them thangs is headed for a quick nap, courtesy of Streetlife'.
