Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richie Strath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Duplesris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strath comes to the ring accompanied by Parallel Universe. Richie Strath has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richie Strath!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Seth Duplesris!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duplesris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Duplesris tries to clinch up but Strath circles away and keeps his distance.
Duplesris looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Duplesris closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Strath's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Strath looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Strath has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Duplesris has gone for a leg lock! Strath slips out almost immediately though and dives into Duplesris's guard.
Strath will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Strath postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Strath working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Duplesris keeping moving, preventing Strath from controlling successfully.
Strath postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Duplesris should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Duplesris looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Duplesris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Strath. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Duplesris looks gassed!
Strath wants to control from the top but Duplesris keeps moving.
Strath works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Strath trying to control the action but Duplesris is working from the bottom.
Strath tries to stand but can't do so whilst Duplesris controls his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Strath wants to work for an arm triangle but Duplesris is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Strath works his way into side control.

Strath wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Duplesris, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Duplesris taking punishment in the form of punches.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Duplesris looks to move to half guard but instead Strath has passed into mount! Damn!
Duplesris tries to lock up and control but Strath gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Strath lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Duplesris hang on?


It looks like Seth Duplesris has been cut.
Strath has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Strath postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Duplesris in real trouble here! The ref calls for Duplesris to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richie Strath!
A very excited looking Richie Strath made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
