Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Ring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Lyons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lyons moves into the clinch successfully.
Ring can't break the clinch.

Lyons throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ring blocks it with crossed arms.

Ring postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lyons is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ring, into his guard.

Ring manages to escape and get back to his feet.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ring.

Lyons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ring. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ring is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lyons's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lyons's back!

Lyons slaps away a takedown attempt from Ring, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ring darts in and clinches Lyons up against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jeremy Ring overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ring is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lyons doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ring.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
