The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grupe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Goldsmith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Grupe.
Goldsmith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Goldsmith misses with a double jab.
Grupe throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Grupe misses with a straight right.
Grupe scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Goldsmith doesn't seem bothered though.

Grupe feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Goldsmiths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Grupe is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Goldsmith is keeping busy.
Grupe swings wildly with an uppercut but Goldsmith uses good head movement to avoid it.

Grupe struggles to land a body shot inside as Goldsmith controls his hands.
Grupe is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Grupe lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Grupe.
Goldsmith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Grupe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Goldsmith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

letting Goldsmith counter with a right hand.

Norbert Grupe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goldsmith falls off balance throwing a combination
and Grupe counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Goldsmith is rocked!
Goldsmith walks straight into a right hand from Grupe - that's dropped him! Grupe jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Goldsmith from any more punishment! Goldsmith complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
