PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Braden Turk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Le Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turk comes into the arena with Deeper and Down blaring out of the sound system. Le Tank has chosen The Trooper as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Braden Turk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hank Le Tank!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le Tank lands with a thumping leg kick.
Turk dips to his left and cracks Le Tank with an uppercut!
A clash of legs there as Turk blocks the low kick.
Le Tank lands a really nice looking cross but Turk seems unphased.
Le Tank throws a chopping leg kick but Turk manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Le Tank connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Le Tank throws an overhand right that lands on Turk's shoulder, as Turk tries to avoid the shot.
Le Tank tries to clinch there but Turk circles away.
Le Tank gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Turk counters with a straight right hand.
Le Tank keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Le Tank has managed to clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Turk.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Le Tank prevents a body shot from Turk.
Le Tank is looking for a takedown.
Turk displaying some good clinch control by pressing Le Tank up against the cage.

Turk misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Le Tank is looking to break free of the clinch but Turk has double underhooks.
Turk keeps control of Le Tank as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Turk lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Le Tank is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Turk is trying to trip Le Tank. He has hold of a leg but Le Tank is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Turk persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Turk is looking to work some ground and pound but Le Tank has wrist control.

Le Tank looking for a sweep. Not yet Le Tank, not yet.
Turk loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hank Le Tank wasn't active enough on the ground.
Turk looks to score with a jab to the body but Le Tank is just out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Le Tank throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Turk connects with a body shot that sends Le Tank's belly button to the back.
Le Tank throws a sloppy head kick and Turk moves out of range easily.
Le Tank blocks a head kick by Turk.
Le Tank fails with a takedown attempt.
Braden Turk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hank Le Tank.
Le Tank on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Le Tank tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Turk avoids the head kick by Le Tank.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Le Tank.
Le Tank working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turk tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Le Tank wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Turk is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Le Tank's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Le Tank's back!
Le Tank manages to reverse the position and now he's in Turk's guard. Nice work there by Le Tank.

Le Tank wants to control from the top but Turk keeps moving.
Turk tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Le Tank lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Le Tank is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Le Tank trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Turk manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Le Tank manages to get himself to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hank Le Tank will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Le Tank misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Turk.
Turk throws a leg kick that misses.
Turk stuffs the takedown attempt from Le Tank. Le Tank gets slowly back to his feet.
Le Tank throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Le Tank throws a right and a left that both miss.

Turk closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Braden Turk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Le Tank is looking to improve his position.
Le Tank wants to control but Turk is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Le Tank won't allow Turk to pass to mount.
Turk missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Le Tank trying to hold on to Turk's head to control him but Turk postures up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Turk connects with a nice short shot to Le Tank's temple.

Le Tank is trying to maintain the position but Turk is very close to passing his half guard.
Le Tank wants to get back to full guard but Turk has passed into side control.
Turk tries to move to mount but Le Tank blocks the move with his legs.
Le Tank dodges the ground and pound from Turk.
Turk working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Le Tank has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Turk works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Le Tank can't do much from the bottom here.

Le Tank is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Turk off and has taken his back!
Turk tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Le Tank has control of Turk's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Turk regains control of the situation pretty easily.
