Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stephan Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Axe has chosen For Whom the Bell Tolls as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephan Walter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Blake Axe!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Axe moves into the clinch.

Walter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Axe moves out of range of the body kick from Walter.

It looks like Stephan Walter has been cut.
Walter keeps the fight on the outside.
Walter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Walter misses with a combination
and Axe counters with a head kick. That will keep Walter thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Walter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Axe was well out of range. Poor timing from Walter.

Axe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Walter sprawls well initially but Axe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Axe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Axe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walter keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walter kicks Axe off and gets back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Axe tries for a kimura but Walter is defending well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Axe lunges at Walter with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Walter's hand.
Axe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Axe feints and as Walter raises his hands in defense, Axe changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Walter wants to get back to his feet but Axe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Stephan Walter.
Well Axe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
