Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Katsuro Sato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dynamite Nixon!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Sato misses its intended target.
Nixon tries to work over Sato's front leg with a kick but Sato checks it.
Nixon walks into a straight right hand from Sato.
Sato uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Nixon.
Sato tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nixon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sato somewhat.
Nixon throws a head kick that misses.
Sato fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sato misses with a right hand
and Nixon counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Katsuro Sato has been cut.
Sato fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Sato takes a head kick and keeps coming.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nixon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sato.
Sato tries for a takedown but Nixon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Katsuro Sato. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nixon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sato moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nixon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sato swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sato slips under a jab.
Nixon doesn't manage to clinch there - Sato circles away.
Dynamite Nixon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sato feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nixons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Sato connects with a nice looking jab.
Sato throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nixon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sato.
Nixon misses with the body kick
and Nixon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Nixon lands a nice shot to the body.
Sato throws a nice head kick!
Nixon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sato shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nixon pinned against the cage. Nixon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sato closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sato lands in his opponent's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sato looking to sit in guard and control but Nixon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sato is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sato is looking for a triangle but Nixon pushes his legs off easily.

Nixon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sato is trying to control the position but Nixon postures up.
Sato is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Sato has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Nixon should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sato has tightened it up now! Nixon should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Katsuro Sato!
