Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nemean Athos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Athos's entrance music is Thundercats. A fine choice. Flare has chosen Also Sprach Zarathustra as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Flare!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Athos connects with a body shot.
Both fighters circling a little - Athos finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Flare moves out of range of the body kick from Athos.
Athos throws a wild body kick that Flare sees coming a mile off.
Nemean Athos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flare shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Athos but Athos pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Flare takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Flare looks to throw the jab but Athos is out of range.
Athos gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Athos pushes Flare off and gets back to his feet.
Athos throws a low kick but Flare avoids it.
Athos throws a sloppy head kick and Flare moves out of range easily.
Flare takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Nice takedown defense from Athos. No joy for Flare on that attempt.

Flare changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Athos tries to avoid it but Flare manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Athos to the ground. Athos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nemean Athos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Flare.
Flare shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Athos sprawls well. Athos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Flare gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rick Flare tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
