Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sami Hyypia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Theodore Sturgeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hyypia kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hang out the stars in Indiana. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyypia looks to land a left hand but Sturgeon moved out of range nicely.
Sturgeon misses with a takedown attempt
and Hyypia connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Hyypia counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Sturgeon is trying desperately to land a takedown but Hyypia is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Sturgeon.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Hyypia is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sturgeon.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sturgeon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hyypia finds it's way round the side to connect with Sturgeon's head.

Sami Hyypia is winning the standup battle so far.
Sturgeon is breathing heavily.
Hyypia lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sturgeon at a distance.
Sturgeon is still on wobbly legs! Can Hyypia finish him?
Hyypia is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Sturgeon flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Sturgeon is out cold! Hyypia holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
